DeKalb County residents can access tax services at three satellite locations

Tax Commissioner Irvin J. Johnson is reminding residents that motor vehicle and property tax services are available at three different satellite tax locations across DeKalb County.

With the reminder, Johnson is aiming to encourage local taxpayers to take advantage of all available sites to help reduce wait times.

“The Memorial Drive tax office is typically very busy at the beginning and end of each month. We’re reminding taxpayers that the same in-person services are also available at satellite offices located on Clairmont Road and in South DeKalb Mall,” said Johnson.

Motor vehicle services at the central office (4380 Memorial Drive), north office (3653 Clairmont Road) and South DeKalb Mall office (2801 Candler Road) are all available Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., while the property tax office located on Memorial Drive is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the same days.

To avoid long lines, the tax commissioner recommends that customers seeking motor vehicle services join a waitlist or schedule appointments in advance at DeKalbTax.org.

Dekalb residents can also utilize the county’s online services and self-service tag renewal kiosks, which can be accessed daily (including weekends and holidays).

Additionally, several services are offered for senior residents at designated community centers, including the Central DeKalb Senior Center (available during the first and third Mondays of each month from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.) and the Lou Walker Senior Center (open every Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.).
