DeKalb County Police Department is investigating a shooting incident involving an Amazon worker in Tucker early Friday morning.

Police responded to a report of a shooting at the 4600 block of Hugh Howell Road around 5:15 a.m. Oct. 24, according to Blaine Clark, DeKalb County Police Department public information officer. The Amazon driver told police he was fired upon while delivering packages on Hanfred Court. He pulled over on Hugh Howell Road after the incident to call 911.

The driver was not hurt.

District 1’s Roger Orlando said he had not received a full briefing on the incident but had concerns about the uptick in gun incidents in Tucker.

“The increasing and cavalier use of deadly weapons, especially in this area of frequent citizen complaints of audible gun shots, is very disturbing,” he told Rough Draft Atlanta. “Based on prior observations, I am confident that our police will investigate this incident fully and increase patrols in the area to provide greater visibility and, hopefully, deterrence.”

Police are seeking any tips about this active and open case. Anyone with information can send an anonymous tip through the DeKalb County PD (Tip411) app or by texting “DKPD” to 847411.

This is a developing story.
