The Atlanta City Council has appointed Carden Wyckoff to fill the vacant District 2 seat created when Amir Farokhi stepped down in July to become head of school for the Galloway School.

Wyckoff, a disability advocate, has served as chairwoman for the City of Atlanta Accessibility and Inclusion Task Force and a member of the MARTA Riders Advisory Committee and MARTA Army Board of Directors.

She will fill the remaining 104 days left in the term and will assume Farokhiโ€™s positions on the Transportation and Zoning committees and the Committee on Council.

Wyckoff posted on Instagram: โ€œAs I prepare to be sworn in over the next week, I am filled with gratitude for the trust and support of our community and for the encouragement from so many who believe in a more accessible, equitable, and connected Atlanta. Thank you to the honorable Amir Farokhi for your endorsement.โ€
