MARTA Decatur Station will close western entrance Sept. 2-5

MARTA will close From Tuesday, Sept. 2 to Friday, Sept. 5, the western entrance (bus loop side) to MARTA’s Decatur Station will temporarily close during renovations of the City of Decatur’s public square above the station, an announcement from MARTA said..  

All customers must use the eastern entrance on Church Street (400 Church Street) to enter and exit the station for trains. Buses will continue boarding in the bus loop, and bus service is unchanged, the announcement said.

Customers who transfer between buses and trains should follow signs for the pedestrian detour along Sycamore Street, which is about a five-minute walk. An alternative would be to board a MARTA Mobility shuttle, which is continuously running between the bus loop and the eastern station entrance on Church Street.

The announcement said riders should allow an extra 10 minutes for their trip. No fare for the shuttle will be required.
