Synchronicity Theatre announces show lineup for 2025–2026 season

Atlanta performing arts venue Synchronicity Theatre announced the upcoming shows that will make up its 2025–2026 season — the 28th in the theater’s history.

As part of the theater’s “Bold Voices Series,” Synchronicity will be hosting a pair of plays that are making their world premieres.

The first play is titled The Rocket Men (Oct. 10 – Nov. 2, 2025), which tells the story about former Nazi scientists who helped launch America’s space program, exploring themes such as ethics, accountability and “the stories we choose to tell,” said Synchronicity Theatre.

Closing out the Bold Voices Series in the new year is In Spite of My Ambivalence (June 5-28, 2026), a show that delves into trauma and transformation by following five characters whose lives intersect across “war zones, bedrooms and therapy rooms.”

For more kid-friendly content, Synchronicity Theatre has a trio of shows planned for its “Family Series.”

The family-focused lineup includes Petite Rouge: A Cajun Red Riding Hood (Sept. 16 – Oct. 22, 2025), a musical reimagining of the titular character, as she goes on a journey through the Louisiana bayou; Frederick (Dec. 5-28, 2025), a bluegrass musical based on the Caldecott Honor book; and Catching the Moon: The Story of a Young Girl’s Baseball Dream (Feb. 20 – Mar. 15, 2026), a show that traces the early life of Toni Stone, the first woman to play for a men’s professional baseball team.

Returning for another year is “Stripped Bare Arts Incubator Project,” Synchronicity’s experimental incubator series that features raw, stripped-down performances from boundary-pushing artists in Atlanta.

This season’s incubator shows include LOUD: A Ghetto Ass Rap Musical (Nov. 12, 2025), Made in America? (Jan. 14, 2026), Home Court (Apr. 15, 2026) and Coping Mechanisms (May 13, 2026).

“Synchronicity remains laser focused on uplifting stories that need to be told. We are proud of our decades-long commitment to creating new arts experiences for audiences of all ages,” said Rachel May, Synchronicity Theatre’s founding artistic director.

“We can’t wait to bring two world premiere plays to Atlanta this season, and look forward to our new touring partnerships bringing our high-quality family shows to students across the entire region. Just watch us.”

For the upcoming season, Synchronicity Theatre is offering a number of ticket specials, such as “Pay-What-You-Can” admission for every Bold Voices show on Wednesdays and every Family Series Sunday evening performance, as well as a limited number of $10 “Adventurous Tickets” that the theater offers to encourage Atlantans to experience new shows at affordable prices, according to a release.

Tickets and subscriptions for the 2025/2026 season will reportedly be available soon on the Synchronicity Theatre website. A new season launch party is set for Sept. 4 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Wimbish House in Midtown.
