The Drake House hosts Rockin’ the Runway fashion show in Sandy Springs

The Rockin’ the Runway Fashion Show returns to the Sandy Springs Performing Arts Center on June 10 to benefit The Drake House, which helps homeless women and their children gain economic independence and long-term stability.
The fashion show will be presented in the Studio Theatre at 1 Galambos Way in Sandy Springs on Tuesday, June 10, from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m., according to a news release from the organization.
Sandy Springs business and community leaders will model the clothes at the event, the release said. They include: long-time participant Cindy McGinty, owner of The Joint Chiropractic; Hayley Settles and Alexis Lewis, both from Shewmaker and Lewis LLC; and Aurora Gwin of the Sandy Springs Police Department.
Attendees can purchase clothing worn by these runway models, which was sourced from The Drake Closet stores. All proceeds benefit The Drake House.
Maggie Allyn will return as the event’s emcee.
Erin Kienzle, founder of Giving4Good (giving4goodevents.com), will serve as auctioneer for the first time. He will raise money for needs that are crucial to The Drake House’s mission, through a Fund-a-Need: Path to Stability portion of the show. During this part of the show, attendees will be encouraged to raise their paddles for The Drake House. Last year, $49,650 was raised from donations to the organization’s Path to Stability initiatives.
The evening begins with a social hour featuring small bites from some of Sandy Springs’ most popular restaurants, including The Select and Fogo de Chao. The release said a pop-up shop will take place during this time, featuring clothes from The Drake Closet shops. An online auction will be available one week before the show.
Tickets to the Rockin’ the Runway Fashion Show, tasting, and one drink ticket are $58, including a venue service fee, or $83 for a VIP ticket, which includes the same as the general admission ticket, plus an extra drink ticket and VIP swag.
Tickets can be purchased online.
