Key Points:
• The Community Assistance Center needs more sponsors for its Hope for the Holidays program.
• Sponsoring families, individuals, and organizations will pick a family, buy the suggested presents, and deliver them to the CAC’s Hightower Road location.

More than 700 children still need help from the Sandy Springs and Dunwoody communities in the Community Assistance Center’s Hope for the Holidays program.
And Solidarity Sandy Springs still needs donors to help 20 families in its Solidarity Secret Santa – Adopt a Family program.
The CAC’s program connects sponsors with families in need.
Sponsors visit CAC’s website to choose a family. From a list provided, sponsors purchase physical gifts for the children and deliver them unwrapped to the CAC Holiday Gift Center. The release said that CAC coordinates pickup with the parents, letting them wrap them and present to their children.
CAC provides guidelines for sponsors on what types of gifts to give:
- All gifts must be new. Spend about $100 per child as the total value of all gifts. You may give one large or several smaller gifts but plan to spend the same amount per child in each family.
- Include a helmet with any bicycle, scooter, skateboard, or skates. (Child height is provided to help with bike sizing.)
- Family gifts ,such as grocery store gift cards, are appreciated.
- Recommended tablets include the Amazon Fire 7 (about $60) or Fire HD 8 (about $100).
- Include gift receipts for clothing and shoes.
- Do not wrap gifts, but you may include wrapping paper and tape with the donation.
Gifts should be delivered to CAC’s offices at 1130 Hightower Trail, Sandy Springs. The deadline is Dec. 12. Additional instructions are included in a Gift Sponsor Guide on CAC’s website.
Corporations, businesses, synagogues, churches, and clubs interested in sponsoring 10 or more children can contact CAC at caccaresforkids@ourcac.org for assistance.
Parents looking for help for their families should visit CAC’s Holiday Program website.
