After a little more than a year after breaking ground, Tucker Town Green will officially open to the public on Nov. 14.
Mayor Frank Auman and other city officials will host the Tucker Town Green grand opening from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 14, on Railroad Avenue. The $8.6 million project encompasses nearly 2 acres of green space that is geared toward engaging Tucker residents in the downtown area.
At the grand opening, there will be various activations throughout the park, including a plein-air artist painting the live event, a selfie station, setup by TKR Scuplture, and a bubble station, said Sonja Szubksi, City of Tucker communications director. Trina Mead and Company will also perform live throughout the event.
The mayor’s dedication and the ribbon cutting will take place at 5:30 p.m.

“We’ll be celebrating the park, but also our 10-year anniversary and the expansion of the downtown district,” Szubski said.
At an Oct. 14 meeting, the council unanimously approved the expansion of the district to include the Tucker Town Green. The district was first created in 2022 to allow Tucker businesses within the district with a consumption on-premises alcohol license to serve beverages in a specially marked cup that can be enjoyed outside.
