Made with care
Nov. 26 â The holidays often turn us toward the idea of giving, but artists practice that year-round. Each piece they create is a gift of imagination, labor, and perspective. This season, two Atlanta projects bring that offering into focus.
Take painter Elizabeth Langâs winter landscape for this yearâs Trees Atlanta holiday donation card. Her piece frames Atlanta inside of its own forest, portraying a moment of calm made for someone else to hold. At Clarkstonâs Johari Africa gift shop, refugee and immigrant artisans bring a similar intention to their work â stitching, beading, and sewing toward stability, community, and creative expression.
Both projects ask us to look with care, to hold things with intention, and to remember that giving is its own kind of art.
In gratitude,
âSherri Daye Scott

Evergreen gifts
Painter Elizabeth Lang brings Atlantaâs âCity in a Forestâ identity into focus with âEvergreen,â the winter landscape featured on the holiday card included with Trees Atlantaâs donation program. Each card represents a tree planted in someoneâs honor, turning Langâs artwork into a gift that supports the organizationâs year-round work to restore and protect Atlantaâs urban forest.
